Black Friday is BAAACK!

To those of you that work in retail, I feel your pain. I've been there myself and it is a hectic and stressful time of year. Often we Pagans join our families for a Thanksgiving feast and time to share what we're thankful for and the stories we wish our family members would forget. It is also thought of as a time of shopping, or more specifically, overspending. So I pose a question, mostly to entertain myself and to abate my curiosity. What is the best deal you have found on an item that you use in your ritual space around this time of year? Was it a book at Borders before they were a distant memory? Was it a candle snuffer given away free with the purchase of a $40 candle? Please, do share!

The Wheel Still Turns

Wow. Life has been horrible, stressful and wonderful since I have posted last February. I won't get into the nity-gritty of it all, but suffice it to say that I am back. Today is the official US holiday of Thanksgiving but I prefer to be thankful every day. I do my best to thank Danu and Lugh for their blessings and gifts every chance I get, but I am also human and am not able to speak to them every day at specific times. If you're like me, give this a try. 1) Research your deities. Find out their correspondences and get something that represents them in your mind, whether it be a feather, a stone, and carving of their totem animal, or even an associated herb in a small jar. 2) Enfuse it with your essence and speak to deity whenever you have it in your hands. Over time you will start to associate speaking with deity when you see the item on your altar or a shelf. This item is meant to facilitate your communication and serves as a reminder to connect with your chosen deities whenever you see it. This item doesn't take the place of diety, however. It is a very simple idea but one that has worked for me. I encourage you to give it a chance to help you make a connection.
